Who Founded Modelo?
Modelo Cosmetics was founded by Dr. Gu-il Seo, a board-certified dermatologist who holds both a medical degree and a Ph.D. from Seoul National University College of Medicine — one of the most prestigious medical institutions in Asia. Dr. Seo has served as president of both the Korean Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Asian Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and currently directs Modelo Dermatology.
Dr. Seo is widely credited with introducing Botox to South Korea and has published a medical textbook on the treatment. His clinical experience spans over 180,000 cases across more than two decades of practice. Modelo Cosmetics was born directly out of that clinical work — a brand built to bring the insights of an anti-aging dermatology clinic into your everyday skincare routine.
